Poal is our proposal for a barrel-aged white wine. It is a wine with a prolonged, deep, and complex taste that is ideal for accompanying fish, rice dishes, and seafood.
Composition
Alcohol content
13%.
Grape varieties
Chardonnay from the Milmanda area and Macabeu from the Blancafort area.
Vinification
As with all our wines, the harvest is done manually with low-pressure pressing and fermented at low temperatures. During fermentation, 50% of the blend is transferred to new French oak barrels, where it will remain for 6 months. The rest of the blend remains in the tank along with its lees. After 6 months of aging in barrels, we regroup the entire blend.
Production
3,000 bottles.
Tasting notes
It has a slightly golden colour, originated by aging in barrels and by the aging process with its own lees. It presents intense aromas of ripe tropical fruits. On the palate, it has a voluminous and long taste, complex, with a powerful aftertaste.
Pairing
It is ideal for enjoying between meals as a glass or an aperitif, also, for accompanying fish, rice dishes, and seafood.
We give the utmost importance to our vineyard, and this is where we devote most of our efforts. For us it is the fundamental piece and the main ingredient of our wines. We treat each vineyard differently depending on the wine we want to make, or what is the same, we make a wine from each vineyard.
We are aware that while making quality wines, the quality of the grapes is more important than the quantity. We are lucky to have vineyards of traditional varieties, such as Macabeu, Parellada, Ull de Llebre or Trepat, which are between 80 and 95 years old.
