Gerida Viticultors is a project born from the initiative of three young winegrowers from the Conca de Barberà in order to preserve the family and winemaking legacy of the territory. By highlighting the viticultural potential of the area, they produce wines with their own grapes that are fresh, accessible, and fun. Our winery is located in Blancafort, in the Conca de Barberà , in an old space where wine has been made for over one hundred and thirty years. In the past, every house in every town in wine-growing Catalonia had a cellar. This is where the farmers transformed their grapes into wine, for their daily consumption, and sold the surplus.

Our wines

We give the utmost importance to our vineyard, and this is where we devote most of our efforts. For us it is the fundamental piece and the main ingredient of our wines. We treat each vineyard differently depending on the wine we want to make, or what is the same, we make a wine from each vineyard.

We are aware that while making quality wines, the quality of the grapes is more important than the quantity. We are lucky to have vineyards of traditional varieties, such as Macabeu, Parellada, Ull de Llebre or Trepat, which are between 80 and 95 years old.

Visits and tastings

From Gerida Viticultors we offer different tasting options and visits to our cellar. From the classic month, which consists of a long explanation of winemaking and tasting of three wines , to wine tastings in our vineyards , where visitors can enjoy bicycle or horse and carriage rides . We are in Blancafort, a town in the Conca de Barberà, which has one of the best restaurants in the region, L’Arravalo , where you can enjoy very attractive dishes and preparations and a very extensive wine list from the area. The Conca de Barberà has the Cistercian Route , which includes the Cistercian monasteries of Santa Maria de Poblet, Vallbona de les Monges and Santes Creus . Additionally, in many villages in the region, we can find numerous examples of the “cathedrals of wine,” wine cooperatives dedicated to winemaking. The most representative ones are in L’Espluga de Francolí, Barberà de la Conca, Sarral, and Rocafort de Queralt.
